In the beginning of 2009, Power Machines and Bulgaria-based Risk Engineering company signed a contract for design, manufacture, delivery, and installation supervision of two ТVV-220-2EU3 type hydrogen-and-water cooled turbine generators to be installed within the framework of reconstruction activities at the fifth and sixth power units of Maritza East-2 TPP. The contract price is over 12 mln euro. In December of the current year Elektrosila, Power Machines’ branch, completed manufacture of the first turbine generator in accordance with contractual timeframes. The second one is to be manufactured and dispatched in May 2010.
The TVV series hydrogen-and-water cooled turbine generators have been series-produced at Elektrosila for over twenty years. These turbogens are designed for interface to steam turbine and unit at thermal and nuclear power plants of up to 1,200 MW power capacity. The TVV type gens rated at 230 MW for Maritza East-2 TPP are equipped with a high-reliable newly designed brush contact unit.
The equipment installation and start-up will be carried out by Bulgarian specialists with support provided by Power Machines’ supervisory engineers.
