Cheboksary CHPP-1, CHPP-2 and Novocheboksarsk CHPP-3 have been cooperating with I.N. Ulianov Chuvash State University, Cheboksary chemical-engineering, electro-mechanic, civil engineering and energy technical schools for a long time. These education establishments train specialists for both Chuvash power facilities and power facilities all over Russia.
The work practice is the most important education part because it is in this period that the future power engineers perfect the theory they leant during the education process, acquire at working places practical skills in power plant technological processes, machines and equipment.
In 2009, I.N. Ulianov Chuvash State University sent 32 students to the stations, 26 of them specialize in industrial heat energy engineering.
"It is not for the first year that the power engineers have been effectively cooperating with the Chuvash State University", stated Sergey Dobrov, the director of Mari El and Chuvashia branch. "Students of the electric power industry department do not have to look for a place to have their practice by themselves. By agreement with Generation Urals Division, they take their work practice at the Chuvash CHPPs, where beginners are supervised by experienced professionals.
During the practice period every student has an adviser, or, a practice supervisor. This person takes care of the students and helps them master the power engineer profession which is not easy. If the student expresses their wish to work at the station in the future, it is the opinion of the supervisor that will serve as the basis for the specialist's employment decision. Moreover station specialists deliver lectures at the heat energy engineering chair and are the members of examination commission. As power engineers say, "science and production entered into a close cooperation."
