With this launch, Peak-shaving boiler house where the new gas turbine unit is located was reclassified as a combined cycle plant and renamed as Tomskaya TPP-1. As the result of the launch overall installed capacity of TGK-11 facilities in Tomsk reached 486 MW.
CJSC ROSENGINEERING was the general contractor and supplier of the majority of power equipment in this project. The construction of the new gas turbine unit started in September 2011, with the majority of construction taking place in 2012. In December 2012, JSC SO UES included the new gas turbine unit in the Registry of power generation facilities of the Wholesale Electricity Market.
“The new gas turbine unit of TPP-1 uses the latest technologies and meets stringent environmental requirements,” said Chief Executive of JSC INTER RAO UES Boris KOVALCHUK. “This launch provided under a capacity delivery agreement will help TGK-11 to improve reliability and quality of power supply while offering competitive consumer pricing.”
