On September 10, 2012, the Government of Russia issued order #1637-р which included the CCGT-800 unit of Permskaya TPP in the updated list of power generation facilities used to support the Capacity Delivery Agreements (CDA).
This project will be managed by JSC INTER RAO Engineering, a fully owned subsidiary of JSC INTER RAO UES. JSC Group E4 was appointed the general contractor for this construction.
The new generation unit of Permskaya TPP will use Siemens AG steam-gas equipment, which meets the latest environmental safety standards while being one of the most efficient setups in the industry with 57-58% efficiency factor. It will use natural gas as its primary fuel.
The fourth power generation unit of Permskaya TPP will cover the growing demand for electricity in the Kama region (Prikamye), home to large chemical, metallurgical, logging and mining companies, and a net consumer of electricity.
As the result of the launch, Permskaya TPP will increase its installed capacity to 3,200 MW and will become a top five power plant in Russia.
“Significant expansion of Permskaya TPP is not only a strategic development priority for INTER RAO UES Group as we want to increase our domestic installed capacity, but also a vital project for the regional and nationwide energy systems. When the backbone electrical grid grows stronger in future, Permskaya TPP will have an opportunity to deliver electricity to Central Russia,” said CEO of INTER RAO UES Boris KOVALCHUK.
"At the moment preparatory works are going on at site, and in the nearest future we will start active construction works. The project will be implemented in line with the highest quality standards, and a new power plant will be commissioned within the time agreed - in December, 2015, " said Andrey MALYSHEV, Predident of E4 Group.
