INTER RAO UES Group starts construction of unit 12 at Verkhnetagilskaya TPP

At the same time, the company has an opportunity to use a grace period until December 2015 when there will be no penalties for failure to pay for the capacity.

LLC INTER RAO Engineering, a fully owned subsidiary of JSC INTER RAO UES, will oversee the new CCGT unit construction project.

The new power generation unit will give an opportunity to decommission the outdated coal-fired equipment of Verkhnetagilskaya TPP units one through three without reducing electricity generation or combined installed capacity. At the same time, operational and financial performance of the power plant will improve significantly.

The new generation unit will use unique steam-gas equipment primarily fueled by natural gas while being one of the most efficient setups in the industry with 57% efficiency factor.
