Июня 19, 2013

Consortium MIR.1200 established a new company Nuclear Power Alliance a.s., which in case of the Consortium’s victory will be responsible for coordinating the preparation and implementation of the project to construct 3rd and 4th units of Temelin NPP.

This fact was announced by the Chairman of the new company’s Board Josef Perlik on July 18. Perlik also holds the post of director on Temelin NPP completion in SKODA JS, the Consortium’s leader.

The legal form of Nuclear Power Alliance a.s. is a joint-stock company established in accordance with the Czech legislation. The company’s main shareholders are members of the Consortium, i.e. SKODA JS, together with ROSATOM subsidiaries JSC Atomstroyexport (ASE) and JSC OKB GIDROPRESS. They will have the following shares in the new company: JSC Atomstroyexport –51%, SKODA JS – 34%, and JSC OKB GIDROPRESS – 15%.

Nuclear Power Alliance will be based in Prague. At the initial stage the company's staff will be around 100 Czech and Russian specialists, while in case the project of Consortium is selected, in the subsequent stages of the project the company’s staff will be gradually expanded. The group of experts will begin work at the construction site of Temelin NPP. At the second stage of project implementation, during which the construction of the new Temelin units will be directly carried out, it is assumed that 90% of the company's staff will be located at the Temelin NPP site. At the most intensive stage of the works the company's staff will amount to 400 specialists responsible for managing the project implementation.

If MIR.1200 project is selected in the tender Nuclear Power Alliance on behalf of the Consortium will cooperate with nearly 350 leading Czech, Slovak, Russian, and other European companies within the Temelin completion project.

Moreover, at the event dedicated to the establishment of Nuclear Power Alliance, Consortium MIR.1200 signed preliminary agreements with three major Czech companies - Sigma Group, ZVVZ Enven Engineering and OSC. Under these agreements the Parties agreed on cooperation in case the Consortium wins in the tender for Temelin NPP completion. Similar agreements were signed earlier with 6 other Czech companies - SKODA JS, Hochtief, PSG International, ZAT, UJV Rez and I & C Energo. These agreements specify in detail the terms and conditions of cooperation between the companies and Consortium MIR.1200 in case the latter wins in the tender.
