The 325 and 1020 mm diameter units were manufactured in a SOT pipe spool multi-purpose workshop in compliance with the GazTU 102-488/4-05 specification. The stabilizer sleeves are intended for installation in places where the pipeline comes from under the ground and help prevent the pipe from shifting in relation to its axis. Under the specification, these designs can withstand a pressure of up to 9.8 MPa.
“Even the most thorough way of assembling this type of complex designs under field conditions is fairly risky in terms of ensuring proper welding conditions and reliability of weld seams,” SOT Executive Director Leonid Malamud explains. “Factory equipment and step-by-step testing of each manufacturing operation enable us to provide both a guarantee of quality to the user and substantial savings in terms of time and money required for subsequent installation and operation.”
The SOT pipe spool multi-purpose workshop, launched in 2008, has all the required assembly and welding equipment certified by the Russian National Welding Control Agency. SOT engineers are capable of delivering customized stabilizer sleeves, joints, and welded and stamped T-bends of any degree of complexity, and designing custom arrangements for delivering large-sized units.
