With this new addition, rated electric power generation capacity of Omskaya TPP-3 increased to 460 MW, and the overall capacity of Omsk power generation is now 1585 MW.
The new power generation unit replaced legacy steam power facilities of TPP-3. With 50% efficiency factor, PGU-90 is approximately fifty percent more efficient than the decommissioned steam power facilities.
Construction was completed in less than two years. This project was delivered by LLC INTER RAO Engineering, a subsidiary of INTER RAO UES.
“The new power generation unit is one of the most efficient units in the industry. It meets the latest technical and environmental specifications and is a strong case of cutting-edge knowledge exchange between international and Russian energy machinery industries,” said CEO of JSC INTER RAO UES Boris KOVALCHUK. “Inter RAO is steadily moving towards delivering on its mission to support steady economic development of our operation regions. Ensuring reliable supply of electricity and satisfying the growing demand for heat and electric power are our key priorities.”
