Baltic NPP: a routine meeting of the construction control panel held

The meeting was attended by Vitaly Trutnev, Acting Director of Rosenergoatom’s branch Baltic NPP Construction Directorate; Vyacheslav Makhonin, the Director of the Baltic Branch of NIAEP; representatives of the architect general Leading Institute VNIPIET-SPbAEP; and nuclear industry and contractor entities.

In August the builders will build the annular and bed drainage of the spray ponds, as well as the floor at elevation -3.70 m in the Safety Building and Control Building.

Also, at the meeting Vyacheslav Makhonin, the Director of the Baltic Branch of NIAEP, reported on implementation of measures on expansion of the reactor power range of Baltic NPP, which will condition continuation of work at some key facilities under construction at Unit 1.
 
To remind, Rosatom is considering a possibility of adding small and medium power reactors on the site of Baltic NPP in case Kaliningrad Region is disconnected from the European Power Grid. At present, the new power units are mapped to the existing configuration of the plant.
