The event will be attended by representatives of the United Kingdom, France, Japan, Italy, Germany, Sweden, the USA, Norway, Finland, Denmark, EBRD and Russia (ROSATOM, FMBA of Russia, IBRAE RAS, RosRAO, FC NRS, NRC Kurchatov Institute), Russian and international mass media. Murmansk Region Governor Marina Kovtun is expected to address the plenary.
The session is to listen to activity reports of international members of CEG, as well as CEG will report on its activities in the past period. In particular, the plenary session will review results, achievements and outstanding issues of elimination of the nuclear legacy facilities in Russia in 2012-2013 with the participation of France, Germany, Japan, Italy, the USA, Canada, the United Kingdom, Finland, Denmark, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, European Commission and EBRD.
Participants of the CEG plenary session will discuss international projects on the SNF and radwaste management in Andreeva Bay and Gremikha site; on removal of reactor compartment to Saida Bay and Razboinik Bay for storage; disposal of nuclear submarines, NMBs Volodarsky and Lepse; development of the infrastructure for SNF management at Atomflot and in Andreeva Bay; as well as the necessity of the international cooperation in rehabilitation of the Arctic seas, i.e. their clean-up of radiation hazardous facilities.
On October 10 the technical tours to sites will be organized (Long-term Reactor Compartments Storage Facility in Saida Bay and Temporary SNF and RAW Storage Facility in Andreeva Bay). These are the sites where international projects aimed at improvement of the ecological situation in North-West Russia are being implemented.
