DTEK and Kyivenergo held a graduation ceremony and enrolled eleven new students to the DTEK-sponsored group.
DTEK's cooperation with universities is aimed at closing the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the professional education of power industry specialists. For students it is a chance to secure the first job right after graduation and to receive better education without additional on-site training.
“DTEK wants to employ the best in the field,” says Evgeniy Bondarenko, DTEK's deputy HR director. “This is why it is important not only to offer competitive salary and good working environment, but also to provide quality professional training for present and future employees. DTEK invests a lot in the improvement of educational facilities as well as in scientific research. For example, over the period from 2011 to 2014 we will invest over 1.5 million hryvnias in improving the facilities of three university faculties and setting up new scientific labs with state-of-the-art equipment.”
“We greatly appreciate Kyiv Polytechnic Institute as the foundry of talents for Kyiv’s power industry,” says Sergey Gerenko, HR director of Kyivenergo. “Most our employees graduated from this school, and DTEK's agreement with the Institute promotes even closer cooperation. We select the best and the most motivated students to prepare them for the work at Kyivenergo.”
Other Ukrainian universities that cooperate with DTEK are also about to graduate their DTEK-sponsored groups. There are four such schools: besides Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, DTEK works with Donetsk National Technical University, National Mining University of Dnipropetrovsk, and Lviv Polytechnic.
