Following the results of 2013, production volume is expected at a level of 2012, share of Kazakhstani uranium in global production will amount to 38%

Within the reporting period «NAC «Kazatomprom» JSC’s enterprises produced more than 10 thousand tons of uranium; an output plan is implemented, share of Kazakhstani uranium in global production amounted to 35%.

Following the results of 2013, production volume is expected at a level of 2012, share of Kazakhstani uranium in global production will amount to 38%.

«NAC «Kazatomprom» JSC’s Chairman of the Board Vladimir Shkolnik noted, that  situation of the natural uranium market in 2013 is unstable. Within the first six months of 2013, the market characterized by excess of supply over demand and stable falling prices tendency.

«NAC «Kazatomprom» JSC’s enterprises developed an action plan for 2013 to reduce expenditures towards minimization of impact which entails the reduction of natural uranium market price, as well as towards optimization of cost for products.

Vladimir Shkolnik noted high activity of the atomic company’s team with regard to offer and introduction of rationalization proposal. In comparison with previous year the number of obtained patents and pre-patents increased twice.

In the second six months of 2013, the plant for production of photovoltaic wafers in Ust-Kamenogorsk city and innovative unit for desalination of sea water in Aktau city will be put into operation.

Head of «NAC «Kazatomprom» JSC reported on realizing of an Action plan for 2013 on implementing of «Samruk-Kazyna» JSC’s Development Strategy for 2012-2022.

Within the creation on the basis of «NAC «Kazatomprom» JSC of transnational, diversified into the front-end NFC company, the work on implementation of conversion, isotope uranium enrichment and fuel assemblies production projects is under continuation.

In Q3 of 2013 it is planned to complete a deal jointly with “CUE” CJSC on acquisition of shares of the world’s largest enterprise for isotope uranium enrichment “UEIP” OJSC.

The work on restructuring of non-core assets is resumed. 6 facilities were outsourced. 16 facilities were outsourced to the local executive bodies. Information on outsourcing of non-core assets is posted on a monthly basis on the company’s corporate website.

In the nearest future atomic holding will be reorganized through merger of “MC” LLP with “NAC “Kazatomprom” JSC.

From June 1, 2013 "NAC "Kazatomprom" JSC entirely made a switch to advertised bidding e-procurement that allows making the procedure of procurement of goods, works and services in the company absolutely transparent.
