Rimera's Izhevsk Factory Implements Barcode

The barcode system helps to control the production activities, including such process operations as welding, machining, assembly, etc., and monitor the handling and shipping of parts. Data input is now simplified and mostly done by workers themselves. The barcode technology is also used to control the quality of products – parts are now cleared for next process operations automatically.
The barcode scanning workplaces have already been provided at all the factory's production shops. The project will evolve into the barcoding of hand tools to speed up tool registration and distribution processes and thus shorten the production cycle time yet further.
A data coding system (barcode, 2D-code) has also been placed at the heart of traceability at Chelyabinsk Pipe-Rolling Plant's «Height 239» workshop. Yet here it is a component part of an automated manufacturing execution system (MES), designed to cancel out the human factor at all production phases during equipment setup, ensure on-line traceability and step-by-step production technology improvement, and offer the client thorough information about pipes in the form of a pipe's electronic passport, which registers all production cycle data.
