Gazprom and Lithuania address issues of cooperation in gas sector

The meeting addressed the status of and the prospects for cooperation in the gas sector.

Natural gas is exported to the Republic of Lithuania under long-term agreements effective through 2015.

Pursuant to Lithuania's Law on Natural Gas as well as Law on the Implementation of the Law on Natural Gas adopted in connection with the EU's Third Gas Directive, from August 01, 2013 Lietuvos Dujos is divided in two companies by activity types: trading and transportation.

From August 01, 2013 the property, rights and obligations executed under the current agreement regarding gas transportation are transferred to Amber Grid.
