The latest example of Enel’s technological innovation, Comptage Avancé, has recently been launched on the French market and is another example of how the Group’s products are tailored to the diverse needs of its customers.
Comptage Avancé enables real-time monitoring of consumption in each production unit of a power plant, automatically sending a phone text message or email whenever the consumption exceeds a set threshold, meaning that the owner can take action to improve consumption and improve energy efficiency at the plant.
Developed together with Actility, a company that specialises in smart grid technology, it combines long-range radio communication and advanced digital analysis. The system has a number of cutting edge wireless radio sensors that are placed on each one of the plant’s production units and a small centralised device that analyses the data. The sensors send the consumption data to the central device, which is then processed and sent by phone text messages or emails, making it particularly suitable for large-scale industrial power plants.
Thetechnology can also be used to monitor other data besides electricity consumption, such as the use of gas or water, or to measure environmental data like brightness, temperature and humidity. Comptage Avancé is a service for Enel’s French industrial or commercial customers, who can subscribe to it without any operational costs.
