Under the terms of the contract entered into in June 2013, collectors KVP-2 and coil assemblies for boiler P-59 of Ryazanskaya GRES were manufactured and shipped to the customer. The total weight of the last consignment that was shipped in December was 47 tons.
Ryazanskaya GRES is the existing electric power plant located in the town of Novomichurinsk. The installed capacity of the plant is 2800 MW. It is designed to withstand supercritical steam parameters (supercritical pressure, 24 MPa, 545ºС/545ºС) and has 4 coal-fired units of 300 MW and 2 oil-and-gas units of 800 MW each.
Four power units of Phase I operate on direct-flow coal-fired boilers P-59 manufactured by ZiO that are designed for combustion of Moscow lignite. Due to restricted production and supply of fuel from the Moscow basin, Ryazanskaya GRES has to use “replacement” coals (in particular, brown coals of Kansk-Achinsk deposit from Pereyaslavsk and Berezovsk coal mines), and to burn them mixed with Moscow lignite. At the same time, due to high polluting and slagging potential of Kansk-Achinsk coals, the boilers operate with low load, losing 40-50 MW of electric power on each power unit.
In October 2011, ZiO OJSC has won a contract for development of the project called “Restoration of target performance of the boiler plant of power unit No. 2 of Ryazanskaya GRES” by using a rehabilitated boiler P-59-M. Over the 2011 to 2012 period, the rehabilitation project was developed by the North Design Center (SPKB) for Boiler Construction affiliated to Podolsk Plant, and was accepted by the customer.
The rehabilitation project provides for the boiler and boiler plant auxiliaries to be located in the existing boiler cubicle of the second power unit, subject to maintaining the building height and retention of raw coal feeders, bunker mezzanine, pulverization equipment, and the boiler structure.
Having said that, the rehabilitated boiler will be totally transferred to combustion of Kansk-Achinsk coals, and all pieces of equipment that would have to be installed due to rehabilitation of the boiler plant or resource exhaustion, will comply with up-to-date requirements in terms of equipment quality and reliability, including new time-tested and well-proven structural solutions for assemblies and elements.
Ryazanskaya GRES rehabilitation project also includes build-up of the existing power unit of 310 MW with a gas turbine unit GTE-110 manufactured by NPO Saturn OJSC which would provide for gas discharge to the furnace of the existing steam boiler.
Technical upgrade based on state-of-the-art technologies will allow improving technical and economic performance of Ryazanskaya GRES, in particular: increase of the installed capacity by 110 MW; increase of the plant output by 1449.7 mln kWh per year; decrease of specific reference fuel consumption for supplied electricity by 42.8 g/kWh (by 13.3%); increase of the unit efficiency by 4.61% (from 39.46% to 44.07%).
