OJSC Gomeltransnef Druzhba and OJSC Polotsktransneft Druzhba work together with Belorusneft on this project. The design was done by Oil Transport Institute in Kiev.
When the facility is commissioned, oil refiners will be able to deliver gasoline and diesel to filling stations of Minsk region directly, without additional expenses on transportation by road and railway.
Such a logistic scheme has been successfully implemented by subsidiary enterprises Belorusneft-Gomeloblnefteproduct and Belorusneft-Vitebskoblnefteproduct. The oil depots in Mozyr and Novopolotsk are connected to local refineries via a pipeline. The use of pipelines not only provides economic advantages to certain enterprises, but also ensures fuel supplies security for these regions.
The project is to be implemented in several stages. The 1st stage includes laying of a pipe from Novopolotsk to the oil depot in the agricultural town Krulevschizna of Dokshitsy district, Vitebsk region. Construction and installation operations are planned to start in the 1st quarter of 2014, and commissioning of this site is scheduled for the end of the year. Simultaneously, the second construction stage will be started with the laying of a transport arm to the oil depot in Fanipol. The total length of the pipeline will be 270 km. It is expected that the new logistic scheme will start working in two years.
