Overall readiness of the Gotsatlinskaya hydropower plant in Dagestan under construction has reached 75%

JSC RusHydro announces that overall readiness of the Gotsatlinskaya HPP under construction on the Avarskoye Koysu river in Dagestan has reached 75%. The crest of the dam has reached 639 m (the designed altitude – 669 m).

The dam is built of shingles and is designed to be 68 m high. In order to make the facility water-tight, a cast asphalt mixture is provided. Such design has earlier been successfully tested on the Boguchanskaya and Irganayskaya hydropower plants.

The plant will be equipped with two 50 MW Francis turbines, both are currently being installed.

Concrete works at the intake and working spillway are in progress. Construction of mudslide protection trough with a bridge is nearing completion.
