The event was also attended by Denis Khramov, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Rais Khisamov, Deputy General Director - Chief Geologist of JSC TATNEFT, and Azat Yagafarov, Deputy General Director - Director of JSC TATNEFT Representative Office in Moscow.
During the meeting Nail Maganov briefed the Minister about the results of the Company’s operation in the production of hard-to-recover hydrocarbons, including bituminous and shale oil, with modern technologies, which TATNEFT Company applies in the production of extra-viscous oil, and specifically about the experience of directional horizontal drilling of wells.
In 2014, TATNEFT put into operation its first well with a flow rate of 9 tons per day of oil for production from Domanic deposits.
As Sergey Donskoy pointed out, the agreement had been reached during the earlier meeting with Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, on the establishment of the TATNEFT enterprise-based proving grounds for testing technologies to produce hard-to-recover hydrocarbons of the Domanic suite.
According to him, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Russia is at present working on the mechanism of implementing pilot projects at the special proving grounds in the constituents of the Russian Federation on the basis of the public-private partnership. The State participation will not only ensure the profitability of such projects, but also “scale” the successful experience of new technologies application to other regions in future.
Sergey Donskoy pointed out that placing the hard-to-recover hydrocarbon reserves on the State balance sheet will allow Russia to become the world leader in oil reserves.
