The new plant will become the most powerful source of alternative energy in the region: its capacity will be 25MW. The plant’s photovoltaic system will consist of 200 000 modules of Russian origin. The facility construction will start in summer 2014, and its commissioning is scheduled for December 2015. The project cost will amount to 3 bln rubles.
“Development of alternative power industry is a very important strategic task. The Orenburg region is a quite an appropriate place for such investment since the climate of the region provides an extensive number of clear sunny days. As a result, a new environmentally friendly power source will appear in the Orenburg region”, emphasized Andrey Vagner.
The right to construction of a solar photovoltaic power plant in the Orenburg region was obtained by KES JSC in September 2013 after winning the tender for renewable power sources.
