On March 20, 2014, KES Holding has launched operation of the new turbo generator set with a capacity of 80 MW at Novocheboksarskaia CHP plant-3 (Sapphire investment project).
Construction and commissioning of the new turbine is a part of a large-scale investment program of the company that provides for commissioning of over 3.2 GW of new capacities. The amount of investment allocated for implementation of the project was 1.5 bln rubles (VAT excluded). Upon implementation of the project, the total capacitance of the power plant will reach 370 MW.
“In Chuvashia, KES Holding has crossed the equator line of its investment program. This is our ninth project that got implemented. Nine more are yet to be done”, said General Director of KES JSC Boris Vainzikher.
“Commissioning of a new turbo generator will enable supplying heat and electricity to 25% of all residents, enterprises and social facilities of Novocheboksarsk, improve reliability and quality of electrical power supply, which means it will give an additional impetus to successful development of the Chuvash Republic”, emphasized the Head of the Chuvash Republic Mikhail Ignatiev.
