The aim of the Wingate project is to develop and extract hydrocarbons at the gas field of the same name located within the P1239 and P1733 licence areas in the British sector of the North Sea.
During the meeting, technical matters and new geological information obtained from the construction of the 44/24b-A3z well were discussed. Representatives of the project's operator, Wintershall Noordzee (WINZ, part of Wintershall Holding GmbH), reported on progress in implementation of the work programme for 2014.
The participants in the meeting also discussed various aspects of the preparations for constructing the 44/24b-A4 well. Drilling of the well is planned to begin in the second quarter of this year.
Gazprom International is involved in the project to develop the Wingate gas field which was discovered in 2008 in the North Sea's Silverpit oil and gas basin. The project is carried out by a consortium composed of WINZ (49.5%), Gazprom International (20%), Gas-Union (15%) and XTO UK (15.5%).
The gas recovered from the field is delivered to an onshore terminal located in the Netherlands.
