On April 2, relocation works were successfully completed on site of Chernobylskaia NPP. The eastern part of the arc of a new safe confinement was moved from the assembly area to the holding area. The structure was moved by 112 meters. The total weight of the relocated structure was 12.6 thousand tons.
The movement works were performed by the Novarka’s subcontractor, MAMMOET (The Netherlands) using its own-produced unique equipment. Altogether, 112 powerful lifting jacks were used for movement. The jacks were installed around the perimeter of the arc from the north and the south sides.
