Semutang-6 well commissioned

Апреля 04, 2014

Gazprom International exploration and development projects outside the Russian Federation, has fully completed construction and testing of the Semutang-6 well in the Semutang field in south-east Bangladesh and has signed it over to the customer for further operation.

Drilling work in the Semutang field revealed a new unexploited gas-bearing strata. This now produces over 191,000 cubic meters of gas per day.

This is the sixth of ten planned wells to be constructed by Gazprom International under drilling contracts with BAPEX and BGFCL/SGFL, subsidiaries of PetroBangla, the state-owned Bangladesh oil and gas corporation.

Gazprom International has so far constructed and commissioned the Shrikail-3, Titas-20, Titas-21, Titas-22, Begumganj-3 and Semutang-6 gas wells. Some of these wells have already been connected to Bangladesh's central gas supply. By the end of this year another four wells will have been built: Titas-19 (so far about half the projected depth has been drilled), Rashidpur-8, Shahbazpur-3 and Shahbazpur-4.

In April 2012, Gazprom International concluded two drilling contracts with BAPEX and BGFCL/SGFL to design and construct ten production wells in Bangladesh. In early 2013, Gazprom International began work on the wells.

The wells are being constructed in six fields: Titas (four wells), Rashidpur, Semutang, Begumganj, Shrikail (one well in each) and Shahbazpur (two wells). Most of the wells are directional inclined wells; their depths will range from 2,900 to 4,050 m down the wellbore.
