The company submitted to the audit with a view to marketing fittings made to Pipeline Bends Technical Specifications TU 1469-009-74238272-2011 for manufacture of steel weld-on fittings for transmission pipelines rated for a pressure of 9.8 MPa and infield pipelines rated for a pressure of up to 16 MPa. Auditors of Business Trend LLC, an expert organization of Gazprom, inspected the condition of all the relevant production stations, particularly commending the plant's quality management system (QMS).
"For almost a decade now, the Chelyabinsk division of Pipeline Bends has been shipping wide-ranging products to Gazprom: hot-worked pipe bends, adapter rings, and pipe spools for such major strategic projects as the Sakhalin–Khabarovsk–Vladivostok pipeline, the Bovanenkovo–Ukhta pipeline, and many others. Meanwhile, shipments by the Magnitogorsk division to the gas group were until recently limited only to products made within the system of national standards. Favorable audit findings will make it possible to expand our offering of components for a key account of the company using products manufactured to our technical specs", says Pipeline Bends plant executive director Leonid Malamud.
As reported previously, until 2012 the Magnitogorsk division of Pipeline Bends plant specialized exclusively in products for the utilities sector and nuclear power engineering.
Expansion of the product mix of fittings for the fuel and energy sector required an official audit to prove the plant's production potential to petroleum companies. Rimera experts previously developed new technical specifications for pipe bends, manufactured and tested pilot specimens. As a result, the plant successfully passed certification by Diascan TDC (a technical diagnostic center of Transneft).
