The investment project that is currently implemented at Kirovskaia CHP plant-4 covers the equipment upgrade including disassembly of two outdated turbo generators and their replacement with modern generator sets. Previously, a 65 MW generator set No. 2 was put into service. The Director of Kirovsky branch TGK-5 Dmitry Trushkov mentioned that all works had been performed in a perfect way technically, and in strict compliance with the schedule.
The equipment upgrade at Kirovskaia CHP plant-4 will ensure sustainable generation of electric power and capacity for the next 50 years and will improve the energy efficiency and the reliability of the plant operation. The new equipment will supply electric power to 1500 residential buildings of the city of Kirov. KES Holding is spending over 4 billion rubles on that investment project.
In 2014, three new facilities will be commissioned in the Kirov region. In autumn, installation of new generator sets of total capacity of 126 MW will be completed at CHP plant-4 and CHP plant-1. And as early as in June, a state-of-the-art combined cycle gas turbine unit will be put into service at Kirovskaia CHP plant-3.
