Izhevsk Plant of Rimera Group Looks to Increase Productivity of Sucker Rod Pump Production by 20%

The objective of this phase is to optimize the finishing assembly operations by limiting the design time of assembly of each pump to 12-14 minutes, thereby increasing productivity of manufacture of this type of products by at least 20% while simultaneously improving the quality of assembly.

With a view to perfecting the assembly operations, a reference production cell will operate at the shop in the 2nd and 3rd quarters of 2014 where manual workers will also undergo training. Similar cells were previously launched at the reduction gear assembly station and at stations manufacturing and assembling parts for drilling equipment.

"One of our plant's priority tasks is synchronizing production and deliveries with the needs of our clients. In light of this we have started implementing the Target production system at our assembly divisions that are our last line of defense before shipments to clients. They also set the pace for other production operations", says Izhneftemash executive director Sergei Shunin.
