Initial Casks Safety Justification Documents’ Evaluation Results Were Received by Ignalina NPP

After examination of the casks structural modifications technical solution and its safety justification supporting documents, VATESI together with the Lithuanian and foreign experts have raised notes, questions and requested to provide the lacking information and additional casks safety justification documentation. Ignalina NPP under the usual working procedure will have to provide additional technical information and answers to the questions raised; then VATESI will analyze and take the solution if casks are suitable for spent fuel storage.

Spent fuel casks’ deviations from the approved Technical Design justification documents were provided by INPP to VATESI on 23 of December 2013.
