Compressor stations will ensure continuous supply of fuel gas for a new plant. Their function is to increase the gas pressure up to the operating level before the gas is fed to three GE gas turbine units LM6000 PF having a capacity of 46.5 MW each. The gas treatment station will be responsible for fuel purification by removing mechanical and liquid impurities before feeding the fuel to the compressor stations. Here, commercial recording of gas consumption will also be carried out.
In Q3, waste heat boilers manufactured by EMAlliance will be delivered to the construction site. And as early as in June 2014, three sets of gas turbine units LM 6000 PF Sprint manufactured by General Electric will be delivered to Vladivostok.
As of today, dismantling of auxiliary facilities and the exhaust stack on site of the future “Vostochnaia” CHP plant is fully completed. Works are currently being performed for deconstruction of the main building of the old boiler house; piles are being driven for the second fuel oil tank; the premises are being prepared for construction of the plant’s main building. About 100 workers and 25 units of equipment are daily engaged on site.
The capacity of the new combined heat and power plant will amount to 139.5 MW of electric power, 421 Gcal/hr and 11 Gcal/hr of thermal power in terms of hot water and steam respectively. The plant commissioning is scheduled for 2015. Natural gas will be used as fuel.
The need of construction of a new CHP plant is primarily explained by the expected shortage of thermal power supply in Vladivostok due to residential development, i.e. extension of the existing communities “Snow Valley” and “Patroclus” as well as construction of new residential areas. Commissioning of “Vostochnaia” CHP plant will satisfy about 20% of electric load of the city.
