In Kolyma, the first HV transmission tower was installed for development of gold ore fields

According to Dmitry Chernykh, Director of the Directorate for Power Facility Construction in the Magadan region at DVUEK JSC, the general contractor Yakutskoe LLC has made a forest corridor of the total area of 920 thousand m2, drilled 3190 rm of wells with further installation of piles, performed foundation works in the amount of 552 cubic meters, assembled 106 transmission towers, and installed the very first one of them.

Completion of the project in 2015 will provide power output by Ust-Srednekanskaya HPP (which is now under construction) to the south part of the Magadan region. This way, the load will be taken off the power grid along the direction “Kolymskaya HPP – Ust-Omchug – Magadan”. That in turn will allow additional 60 MW of electric power to be supplied to the fields of Yano-Kolymskaia gold ore province. Besides, power transmission losses in the Central Generation System of Magadanenergo JSC will decrease by 10 MW.

It should be recalled that the power network construction project is covered and regulated by the investment agreement on cooperation for 2014 entered into by the Government of the Magadan region and DVUEK JSC as well as by the most recent version of the Federal Target Program for economic and social development of the Far East and Baykal region for the period until 2018. The Ministry of the Energy of the Russian Federation is the public customer of the project.
