NIAEP-ASE presented its expertise in realization of complex infrastructure projects in the 5th International Seminar on Nuclear Industry

5th International Seminar on Nuclear Industry was held on May 14-15 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. On May 15 Dmitri Vysotski, Head of Strategy at NIAEP-ASE (Engineering & Construction Division of  Rosatom), presented Rosatom integrated offer in complex infrastructure projects realization (NPP construction, radioactive waste and SNF management, decommissioning).

Today company portfolio is over 20 power units which under construction and design on the side in Russia and worldwide. It sets up 30% of the world NPP construction market. Company also represents a number of engineering and EPC projects in radioactive waste and SNF management (Russia and worldwide) that are also implemented NUKEM Technologies GmbH (Germany), belongs within the United Company’s chain.

Dmitri presented references and competencies of the United Company in simultaneous realization of construction projects in nuclear and thermal energy, as well as possibilities in project management consulting (PMC). Dmitri presented Multi-D - innovative project management system made by NIAEP-ASE and applied for complex engineering facilities construction that allows to efficiently executing projects on time, quality and budget. Due to the gain expertise in appliance of this technology NIAEP-ASE can proactively run NPP and TPP construction projects, waste and SNF management facilities. Possibilities of Multi-D make possible to apply it not only for the Russian designed NPPs, but for different complex engineering projects comparable with such objects as TPP, oil and gas engineering etc., including decommissioning projects.

"NIAEP-ASE in cooperation with NUKEM Technologies are especially ready to cooperate in engineering and construction facilities for treatment, utilization and storage waste and spent fuel management which are in the center of discussion now regarding the future of Angra NPP and future of nuclear industry in general", he said.
In fine of the presentation Dmitri noticed that nuclear energy apart from energy source also generates jobs and promotes the development of the local industry, as well as the country's technological reputation.

In the context of education, Rosatom promoted a lecture at the University of The State of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) dedicated for students of Communication faculty. Ivan Dybov, Vice President of Rusatom International Network JSC, told about the specifics of PR activity in nuclear industry and Russian expertise in this field. "Rosatom traditionally pays great attention to public acceptance and we believe that the successful development of national nuclear program is based on the support of the population", he said.
