286 assemblies are now loaded into the reactor BN-800 at Beloyarskaia NPP

As of early morning on May 26, the reactor was loaded with 286 assemblies including 264 nuclear fuel assemblies and 22 assemblies to be used in different systems such as automatic protection. Another 93 assemblies were placed in a drum for storing fresh fuel assemblies and are now getting ready to be loaded into the reactor.

Wash water collector tank pre-commissioning activities are currently being performed in the reactor building including testing of the spent assemblies transfer mechanism and individual testing of the reactor refueling system mechanisms.

In the power house of the main building of the unit, installation of the turbine К-800-130 is in progress. Housings of the bearing assemblies No. 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 are put in place and installed in horizontal and vertical planes in relation to the optical axis. Three low-pressure shells are assembled and put in place using temporary supports. Dynamometer loads are set for the high-pressure cylinder. Packing chambers of shaft-end seals and lower parts of the diaphragms are installed. Bearing assemblies No. 1-5 are transferred to the permanent plates with further testing of the shaft line. Blades of stage 5 of the low pressure rotors are installed.

Also, installation of pumps, other equipment, and pipelines of different systems related to the turbine is still in progress in the power house.

Start-up testing of motor-operated valves, adjustment of instrument guide tubes, purging of the installed pipelines, vibration tests and run on pumps and ventilation units, start-up testing of non-loaded electric engines, and other commissioning works are currently being performed.

2224 work programs are developed and approved for the ‘Power start-up of the unit 4’ stage; another 167 programs are under development and pending approval.

The sections of the auxiliary equipment switchgears 6 and 0.4kV, standby auxiliary transformers, DC boards are now ready to be energized according to the design diagram.

At the outdoor switchgear ORU-500kV, works are currently being performed in the protection and automation systems of primary transformers, auto-type coupling transformers of ORU-500/220kV, and other power equipment.
