International conference on "Nuclear Safety Elements" will be held at Vilnius

Participants of the conference are representatives of the institutions related to nuclear security in Armenia.

Aim of the conference is to introduce capabilities developed by Lithuania in fighting with nuclear materials and ionizing radiation sources smuggling and other illegal activities, to share the experience gained by Lithuania and achievements of best practice in this area. Participants of the conference will visit the Border Guard School, the Medininkai Border Control Point, the State Nuclear Power Safety Inspectorate, the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Radiation Safety Center.

Officials from Armenia will visit SE Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant, where they will be introduced to the current security capacities and systems, physical safety organization features. Moreover, the experience will be shared on the assurance of operating or under construction nuclear facilities physical safety.
