A thousand MVA for Moscow Energy Ring

The integrated rehabilitation of the substation is supposed to be completed in 2016. The total investment in the project will amount to approximately RUB 11.4 bln.

The “Noginsk” substation is one of the key facilities of the 500kV Moscow Energy Ring. The substation generates capacities of Shaturskaia GRES and GRES-3 named after R.E. Klasson for the Moscow Energy Ring. Also, the “Noginsk” substation supplies energy for the city of Noginsk, the Noginsk district of the Moscow region, and the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute located in Zhukovsky.

The integrated rehabilitation of the power facility will be performed on the premises of the operating substation without any losses in electric reliability for consumers. As of today, construction of new buildings of gas-insulated SG 220kV, 500kV, and chambers of autotransformers 220kV is completed, and finishing works are being currently performed. The gas-insulated SG 220kV is already assembled; and assembly works for the gas-insulated SG 500kV are now being executed. In addition to four autotransformers, the GISG 220kV will be commissioned by the end of the year, and aerial cable lines 220kV will be connected.

As a result of the rehabilitation, the “Noginsk” substation will become a state-of-the-art, reliable, high-technology and environmentally-friendly indoor power facility. Upon completion of the rehabilitation project, the installed capacity of the substation will more than double, and the floor space under the equipment will decrease by 30%.  The renewed substation will be equipped with modern microprocessors.
