As of June 2014, new excavators are used to remove the overburden in surface mining operations. The expected productivity of each piece of equipment is more than 8mln cubic metres of rockmass per year.
According to Alexey Kilin, the deputy CEO of ‘SUEK-Khakasia’, new excavators complement the, previously acquired, ’BeLaz’ trucks (220 tons). New powerful equipment can ensure the efficiency of coal production even when the stripping ratio is high. The excavators will, undoubtedly, contribute to the stability of output at the ‘Chernogorski’ coal pit and significantly increase the Chernogorski mine life.
In 2013 the output of the ‘Chernogorski’ open pit was more than 5,5 mln tons of coal. The entirety of output is processed at the ‘SUEK-Khakasia’ enrichment plant, which ensures that only top quality fuel is delivered to consumers.
