Transneft and Shell signed a cooperation agreement

A cooperation agreement between the Shell Group subsidiary in Russia and Transneft, JSC was signed on July, 2014.

The document was signed by the Vice-President of Transneft, JSC, Mikhail Barkov and the Director of the Russian subsidiary company, Shell Exploration and Production Services (RF) B.V., Igor Ignatiev.

According to the document, the parties will create a Steering Committee, whose mission is to explore opportunities for exchanging experience and building further cooperation in areas important for the companies.

Exchange of experience will take place in the following areas: operation of oil pipeline transportation systems, in-line inspection and fiber optic technology for detecting leaks in pipelines,  operation of pipelines and oil product storage facilities in the Russian Federation and abroad.

In addition, the companies will collaborate on providing training and advanced development courses to specialists and staff.

The agreement will allow both parties to strengthen the existing effective partnership.
