Track facilities will be used for coal delivery during the CHPP operation period. During construction of the station, this branch line will be used for transportation of equipment and materials to the construction site.
Besides the line itself, contractors will build infrastructure for another 8 km of passing tracks at the new railway station. The total length of the railway tracks will be 13,825 km including Maria Cape station and the exhibition park of CHP plant. The facility is scheduled for commissioning at the end of January 2015. To meet the deadline, contractors will perform the roadway earth works on a 24-hour basis. Sixty-six people and 47 items of machinery are engaged in construction of the access lines. The cost of works under the contract will amount to 1.2 bln rubles. The branch line is one of the off-site auxiliary facilities. Its construction is financed out of the funds of the investment program of RAO UES of the East.
As of today, preliminary works are completed at the main site of the future station: utility networks that interfered with construction are taken out, temporary fencing is built, the site grading and levelling is performed. The primary contractor of the project GlobalElectroService JSC proceeded to excavation of the pit for the main building of the station.
The basic equipment for the future station is manufactured by 85%. Until the commencement of installation works, generators, turbine units and boiler units of CHPP will be stored under care and custody of the manufacturers. Rental agreements are concluded for all the land plots allotted for the station’s main and auxiliary construction sites.
The rated electrical output of CHPP in Sovetskaya Gavan will reach 120 MW, and the thermal output will be 200 Gcal/h. Urgalsk coal grade G will be used as fuel for generation of electrical power and heat. According to the State Expert Evaluation Department, the total estimated construction cost is 18,591 bln rubles.
