Cheboksarskaya HEPP will transfer all its turbines to the adjustable-vane mode

Now, depending on the load and the head, the angle of the turbine vanes may change. It will result in energy efficiency improvement of the power generation process: maximum electricity output and minimum water consumption will be ensured.

A massive set of operations for reconstruction of a hydroelectric unit No. 6 also comprised replacement of the electrical equipment. New excitation systems and microprocessor terminals for the electric protective gears were assembled, and a modern SF6 circuit breaker was installed.

Currently, the adjustable-vane operating mode is reactivated on seven out of 18 hydroelectric units of the plant. Similar reconstruction of another hydro turbine (unit No. 2) is in progress. The operating wheel of the hydroelectric unit No. 10 is being prepared for shipment to the manufacturer.

All hydro turbines of Cheboksarskaya HEPP are scheduled to be transferred to the adjustable-vane mode by 2025.
