Turboatom intends to purchase titanic pipes

JSC Turboatom signed the contract with LLC Energotrans (Russia) for the purchase of longitudinal welded tubes of high quality made of titanium to the amount of 338,3 million rubles (the producer of pipes - JSC VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation (Russia).

Today, the 3rd condenser of the block module performance of the turbine with the capacity of 1000 MW is being manufactured for the unit No. 3 of Balakovskaya NPP (Russia).

It will be executed on technology that for the first time was developed and applied by the enterprise with cooling tubes made of titanium alloy four years ago. Thanks to it, the efficiency of turbine equipment is increased, the term of its operation and overhaul period are extended.

"Turboatom" purchased tubes made of titanium alloys manufactured by JSC VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation for power units No. 2 and No. 4 of Balakovskaya NPP and power units No. 3, No. 4 of Rostovskaya NPP during 2010 - 2014.

Titanic tubes manufactured beyond the borders of the Russian Federation are not certified in Rosatom company, which is the customer of condensers. Currently, none of the enterprises in Ukraine is manufacturing such products.
