The current daily extraction rate at the blocks is around 4 million cubic metres.
The project to jointly develop blocks 05-2 and 05-3 in offshore Vietnam is being implemented under the production sharing agreement between Gazprom International and Petrovietnam which was signed in April 2012.
Gazprom is represented by the sole operator of its hydrocarbon prospecting, exploration and development projects outside the Russian Federation, Gazprom International, which holds a 49% stake in the project. The remaining 51% belongs to Petrovietnam.
Commercial production at the Hai Thach and Moc Tinh fields within these blocks began in September 2013.
The natural gas extracted is supplied to consumers in the south of the country along the Nam Con Son-1 gas pipeline.
Blocks 05-2 and 05-3, with a total area of 4,342 square km, are located in the south-eastern part of the South China Sea. Two gas fields have been discovered within the blocks; Moc Tinh and Hai Thach.
Developing the fields requires 16 production wells with depths ranging from 2,000 to 4,600 metres, and two production platforms within the blocks.
