Turboatom has manufactured and tested a runner of hydraulic turbine for Kremenchugskaya HPP

The equipment is packed and ready for shipment. Today the hydroturbine shaft is being manufactured.

At the moment, the guide vane is being installed, and then the runner and other mechanisms of the turbine will be mounted.

Under the contract signed in July 2011, OJSC "Turboatom" will make reconstruction of three Kaplan turbines with a nominal capacity of 58 MW replacing runners with a diameter of 8 m, hydroturbines shafts, blades of guide vane and bearings. Resulting from the performed works the capacity of each unit is expected to increase to 64 MW. The service life and overhaul period of the equipment are likely to increase as well.

Delivery date of the first turbine is planned for 2014, the second one: 2015, the third one: 2016.

It is the third turbine of Kremenchugskaya HPP modernized by "Turboatom", in June 2009, after reconstruction the first hydrounit was launched; the second one was launched in December 2012.

Kremenchugskaya HPP is built on the Dnepr River and it is the third stage of Cascade of the hydropower plants in the territory of Ukraine. All 12 turbines installed at the hydropower plant were manufactured by OJSC "Turboatom", the first hydrounit was put into operation in 1959, and the last one was commissioned in 1960.
