ECOHZ launches Call for Projects to unlock renewable energy projects

Сентября 23, 2014

23 September 2014, Oslo – Today, ECOHZ announced the opening of Call for Projects for landowners, project developers and cooperatives who have renewable energy projects that are close to being realized, but lack top financing.

“By providing top financing, we help unlock renewable energy projects in their final development stage and bring their electricity to the grid,” says Tom Lindberg, Managing Director, ECOHZ. “With access to more electricity from renewable energy sources, purchasers of renewable energy will send a clear signal to the market that this source of electricity is preferred. This will change energy behaviour,” says Lindberg.

In phase I, ECOHZ is primarily looking at financing mature technology projects using solar, wind or hydropower. The scope is initially limited to projects in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg and Germany. The eligible projects need to have the required permits, access to the grid and project start-up planned within a year.

The top financing ranges from EUR 50,000 to 500,000, and is limited to 15% of the total investment. “The top financing complements, rather than competes with, government support schemes and existing funding initiatives,” says Lindberg.

“In Phase II, ECOHZ will look to top finance projects with different technologies in more geographies,” concludes Lindberg.

The chosen projects will become part of ECOHZ GO2 offering. This is a new solution that allows enterprises to track their renewable power consumption through Guarantees of Origin (GO) and at the same time contribute to developing renewable energy production. Put simply, companies can then produce as much as they use and be energy positive.
