Gazprom and KAMAZ to go on with Russian NGV market development

The parties addressed the joint efforts on the Russian NGV market development.

The routine communication within the joint working group on initiation and location of new CNG filling stations as well as on the number of newly produced gas-driven KAMAZ trucks and their distribution areas was noted to be in full swing. Gazprom adjusts its CNG filling station construction schedules based on KAMAZ-submitted data.

Gazprom intensely promotes off-the-shelf NGV manufacturing. In particular, the Company is among organizers of Blue Corridor, the annual off-the-shelf NGV rally, regularly participated by KAMAZ. In addition, the KAMAZ-Master rally team in cooperation with Gazprom designed the special edition sport-truck – gas-fueled KAMAZ. It made its successful debut in the 2013 international Silk Way Rally Raid having proved the reliable performance of gas equipment in the most extreme environment.

Gazprom is currently developing the unified on-line platform to promote and introduce NGVs in Russia, including those produced domestically.

Alexey Miller and Sergey Kogogin stressed that the cooperation between Gazprom and KAMAZ would be continued. Development of means for the NGV competitiveness enhancement; simultaneous construction of CNG filling network and NGV servicing facilities; introduction of NGV operational and maintenance staff training procedures were mentioned to be the top-priority activities.

Gazprom extensively develops the Russian NGV market to bring it up to a new level. The Russian Regions Gasification Program and all the agreements signed with Russia’s constituent entities contain a mandatory provision on regional NGV markets development.

Gazprom Gazomotornoye Toplivo, a special-purpose company which consolidates the relevant assets, was established to efficiently implement Gazprom’s policy in this segment.

Gazprom Gazomotornoye Toplivo entered into Agreements of Cooperation with a number of major vehicle manufacturers and distributors, including KAMAZ, in 2013. The cooperation between the parties is focused on manufacturing and introducing NGVs of various types as well as on creating the favorable environment for the Russian NGV market evolution.

KAMAZ is the major Russian carmaker. KAMAZ comprises over 150 organizations in the Russian Federation, within and beyond CIS, including 12 large car making factories. Currently, the company is implementing the program for designing and manufacturing motor vehicles running on NGV fuel.
