Leading Russian and Western experts discussed the cooperation in the field of improving the safety, efficiency and modernization of the NFC.
Dominique Dapei, Director of Nuclear Fuel International Affairs, Nuclear Fuel Division, EDF; Liudmila Zalimskaya, Director General, Techsnabexport; Leonid Yanko, chief of the department, JSC TVEL; Miloš Lašček, Nuclear Fuel Expert, Slovenské Elektrárne and Pál Kovács, Counselor to CEO, Paks NPP, made presentations at the session.
Kirill Komarov, Deputy Director General of ROSATOM, noted at the opening of the session that it was through France that Russian uranium products made their way to the European and then to the global uranium market. “ A lot has changed in the world for more than 40 years of cooperation, but we have remained reliable partners demonstrating unquestioning commitment to fulfill our obligations, ” he underlined.
All the participants of the session noted the importance of the international cooperation. International cooperation projects, consortiums and alliances have been becoming more popular, and Russian nuclear industry is open for such projects, being a reliable partner and always fulfilling all the obligations in time.
“ The Techsnabexport company is at the market of France for more than 40 years. We work with companies AREVA, EDF, CEA and many others, and we are going to continue cooperation in the future, ” Liudmila Zalimskaya, Director General of Techsnabexport said.
“ For us as well as for Rosatom, high quality of the fuel and the safety ensuring are the key objectives, so we intend to continue our cooperation, ” Dominique Dapei, Director of Nuclear Fuel International Affairs, Nuclear Fuel Division of EDF noted.
L. Yanko, chief of the department JSC TVEL, told about safety and efficiency of NF. The company implement the international program Move to Zero-Level Failure for several year. SC ČEZ (Czech republic), SE NNEGC Energoatom (Ukraine), NPP Kozloduy (Bulgaria) and JSC Rosenergoatom Concern also take part in the program. This initiative includes a package of actions (development, implementation and monitoring of organizational and technical measures at a design organizations, manufacturing plants and NPP) aimed at complete elimination of probable operation with untight fuel assemblies.
“ Nuclear power is the business for which economic efficiency is the core indicator. That is why we are making continuous efforts to improve our products and optimize their technical and economic performance. This allows our partner-operators of overseas NPPs to achieve a rise in efficiency and to strengthen the performance of their own businesses. We consider the best technical and engineering solutions both accumulated during product development for Russian-design reactors and produced within the framework of product development for foreign-design reactors, ” Kirill Komarov noted.
