This is the largest project in the Polish energy sector in the last 25 years, with investments in excess of 2.5 billion euros.
Deliveries will be made by the French mechanical engineering company Alstom that is participating in the Polish project through MSA's general distributor in the Polish market – D.E.F.T. Polska. Under the contract, MSA will deliver 230 Class 150-600 wedge gate valves 3"-24" in diameter and Class 400 valves 14"-20" in diameter. All valves will be fitted with Sipos electric motor drives. The contract price exceeds EUR 1 mln.
“MSA Plant has been cooperating with the French company Alstom for 10 years. Over the years, MSA in collaboration with D.E.F.T. Polska have been supplying valves (mainly gate valves) for Poland's largest energy projects, such as construction of Bełchatów, Lagisza, and Pątnów thermal power plants,” says MSA Management Board Chairman and Rimera Group Executive Director Vladimir Kononov, adding: “MSA is regularly audited by Alstom with a focus on the condition of the plant's manufacturing resources and conformance to safety and environmental friendliness standards. The latest Alstom audit was completed this past July. The positive audit findings made MSA an eligible supplier for the coal-fired power plant expansion project.”
