"Synchronous startup of such powerful turbine units was held for the first time. They used to work off-line", - said the Deputy Chief Designer on Hydraulic Turbines of OJSC "Turboatom" Viktor Efimenko. The first hydraulic unit was launched in 2009; the startup of the second one took place in December 2013 following which the hydraulic machine was in commissioning and experimental operation mode.
Today the company is working on the third hydraulic machine, which will be the final stage of the first phase of construction of Dnestrovskaya PSPP. At the moment, runner, guide vane, shaft and mechanisms of the hydraulic machine are being made, their manufacture is planned to be completed by the end of 2014.
Currently, the installation of embedded parts, including spiral chamber and stator is completed and the process of concreting is begun at the power plant with the participation of specialists in supervision installation of "Turboatom". Thereafter, the installers will begin mounting guide vane, rotor and mechanisms of the hydraulic machine.
Under the contract signed in April 2013, OJSC "Turboatom" will manufacture and supply a complete set of equipment for the reversible radial-axial hydraulic machine OPO170-B-730 of Dnestrovskaya PSPP. The maximum capacity of the unit in a turbine mode will be 390 MW, in a pump mode - 420 MW. The startup of the hydraulic unit is scheduled for 2015.
