Specialists of Belorusneft discovered new oil deposit in Venezuela

The recently completed well No.1624 on Block II Lagunillas filed has produced pure oil flow to surface of 1400 barrels per day. For reference: mean daily production per well on Lake Maracaibo does not exceed 75 barrels.

Wellwork started at the end of April, and the main target was completion of the known deposit in horizon B5. At the same time, Belarusian specialists of JV Petrolera BeloVenezolana pointed out the necessity to deepen the well with an exploratory borehole as the interpretation of the seismic data from the underlying formations clearly showed a lot of promise. When drilling beyond the borders of areal limits of official deposits two new pay zones were discovered (C4 and С7), thus new reservoirs on deposit Block II Lagunillas were discovered.
