The Port of Kozmino will Exceed the Plan of Oil Shipment in 2014

The export of oil from the oil-loading terminal Kozmino is expected in 2014 to be at the level of 24.9 mln tons, which is significantly higher than the planned target.

As of December 29, 2014, the volume of oil transshipment from the oil-loading terminal of Kozmino – the end point of the Eastern Siberia – Pacific Ocean pipeline system, reached 24.7 mln tons. Before the end of year, it is planned to ship two tenders of 100 thous. ton each, which will increase the annual indicator of export until 24.9 mln tons.

The main consignees of the oil transshipped via Kozmino since the beginning of 2014 and to the current date have been: Japan – 8.9 mln tons (36 pct), China – 5.9 mln tons (23.9 pct), South Korea – 3.6 mln tons (14.6 pct).  In the direction of Malaysia there were shipped 1.6 mln tons (6.5 pct), Thailand, 1.4 mln tons (5.7 pct), Philippines, 1.3 mln tons (5.3 pct), Singapore, 1.1 mln tons (4.5 pct), New Zealand, 0.5 mln tons (2 pct), Taiwan, 0.2 mln tons (0.8 pct), the U.S.A., 0.1 mln tons (0,4 pct), Indonesia, 0.08 mln tons (0.3 pct).

From 24.7 mln tons of oil shipped from Kozmino, 23.4 mln tons (94.7 pct) have accepted through the ESPO-2 oil pipeline, and 1.3 mln tons (5,3 pct), by the Far East railway.

The first five anniversary of work (the oil port of Kozmino was launched on December 28)  was celebrated by yearly increase in the amount of exported oil, which reaffirms the growing interest of  Asia and Pacific countries in the supplies of high-quality Russian oil brand ESPO.

The further development of the port of Kozmino envisages expansion of its capacity, which is an adequate response to the market demands. By 2016, the second berth of the port will be able to accept tankers with a deadweight up to 150 thous. tons, which exceeds by 30 thous. tons its actual capacity.  To upgrade the second berth to equal the first one, reconstruction of the approach dam is needed as well as dredging works in the water areas of the berth.
