At Ekibastuz SDPP-1 first time engaged in grid turbine with capacity 540 MW

Efficiency of new design solutions is in that “Turboatom” implemented erection of turbine on existing foundation with increasing of power characteristics. As a result of modernization capacity of Unit increased on 40 MW, life time will be prolonged on 25 – 30 years.

First stage of commissioning was successful. During starting operations Unit reached capacity 100-110 MW. At present time equipment is under balancing and commissioning works. Next stage of program of power commissioning of Unit No 2 of Ekibastuz SDPP will be gradually increasing of capacity up to reaching of rated. Unit No 2 expected for commercial operation in February 2015. Erection and balancing, commissioning works implements with participation of supervision engineers and specialists of OJSC “Turboatom”.

For successful implementation of this project General Director of Ekibastuz SDPP-1 Riskan Svambaev expressed gratitude and appreciation to General Director OJSC “Turboatom” Victor Subbotin and whole staff of Enterprise. Particularly he noted: “During the whole period of cooperation supplies were in time and in full scope. In process of works employees of company showed high skill level and aspiration for the best results, helped to solve difficult tasks and arm in arm in developing and improving reach set goals. Due to coordinated and hard joint work of our collectives we commissioned rehabilitated Unit No 2 with capacity 540 MW allowing to make stronger power sector of Kazakhstan and create convenience and comfort in houses of people of our country”.

This is the first unit commissioned after modernization at present time in manufacture are equipment for next Unit No1, finish work on it planned in first quarter of 2015.
