Sherif Ismail, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources witnessed signing the first contract between the Egyptian Gas Holding Company EGAS and the world leading Company Trafigura , working in the field of petroleum products trading and natural gas shipments to supply about 33 shipment of LNG to fulfill the requirements of the Electricity Sector during the period 2015 - 2016.
The contract was signed in the presence of Dr. Sherif Soussa, First Undersecretary of the Petroleum Ministry for Gas Affairs, Eng. Tarek Al Mulla, Chief Executive of the Egyptian Petroleum Corporation EGPC.
On his part , Eng. Khalid Abdel Badea, Egas Chairman, said that the coming period will witness the signing of the rest of the LNG shipments contracts with the awarded companies in the tender , which include the supply of 75 shipment, won by 4 International companies.
It is worth mentioning that, the Petroleum Sector has completed several important procedures to speed up importing the required quantities to provide part of the power plants needs, according to the State's plan to secure fuel supplies
